This is easily one of the best hostel volunteering jobs in Guatemala (and maybe Latin America?). It's the perfect blend of social and chill, and there's enough free time to do all the other things you'd like to do in Guatemala while you're there. Andrea is a great manager and does her best to accommodate everyone's time-off requests, and the volunteer tasks are varied enough that volunteering here stays fresh. The hostel itself feels like a little home and the TV is HUGE. DEFINITELY CHOOSE SOMOS!

Incredible time at Somos. Vibe is impeccable, Andrea and Brad are heroes and having stayed through 3 rotations of volunteers the team always had a nice dynamic. Training is comprehensive & everything is well run. Always felt supported & versality of tasks was great. Hostel a pretty space, guests & staff mix seemlessly, very friendly. As volunteers don't work mornings its easy to take Spanish lessons alongside work. Work never overly demanding, just a case of doing things methodically & with care. Would happily volunteer at Somos again and highly reccommend!

Somos has been my favorite volunteer experience so far. The hostel has everything a traveler is looking for; equipped kitchen, social environment, chill spaces, comfortable living space. The job is a little bit of everything; reception, bar, activities in town. Staff is amazing, will definitely miss it here!

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I could not have asked for a better one! The hostel is so nice and an excellent place to make international friends! The work is pretty easy and it varies which keeps things exciting. Part of the duties were running the activities for the hostal which was awesome because you got to participate and it exposes you to the fun things to do around Antigua! By the time I left, I felt like a tour guide lol. Communication is great which was definitely appreciated! I would definitely recommend this host for anyone looking to get to know Antigua! :)

I cannot recommend volunteering at Somos enough! This hostel will feel like your home and everyone will welcome you with open arms. You will meet so many cool, new, interesting people from all over the world and have the opportunity to make their time in Antigua the best it can be. Learning to work at the front desk is a skill you can bring everywhere, working at the bar is fun too and you have the opportunity to lead activities for guests that you are actually interested in. The bar crawls and nights out are super fun too! The best experience ever!

I had the most beautiful and lovely time away from home and feeling at home ! Perfect ! I met many people, and made some good friends. You can really understand why it is called Somos. That's what we were with the volunteers and staff, a kinda special family. I wish I could have stay longer. It made me sad to leave all the lovely people, because we were a really good team. I could definitely say that it was the best moment of my travel. The place is very clean thanks to Ana and Ruth. The work is clear and fun. Jesus and Andrea were always there to help, thanks a lot ! miss you all ❤

SOMOS Hostel is the place to be in Antigua - I had such an amazing time!
For me it is the perfect mix between socializing with people from all over the world and enjoying the city itself. The whole staff is so friendly and helpful. It was my first volunteering experience and I enjoyed it 100%. The work is easy to lern and fun. The benefits for volunteers are also amazing. I would definitely come back!
